Organ Installed!
The organ is installed and sounding wonderful!
Thanks Terrigal Anglican for allowing this wonderful project.
Please enjoy!
Console All But Done
The console is now all but complete from a construction point of view. Installation of a bit more electronics and amplification system to go yet.
As you can see in the photos, the music rest lifts out to reveal the computer monitor. (This is for the organist to play solitaire… )
Final pedal board assembly and then on to speaker and platform construction next.
All looking good to commence installation on Monday 28th October, with the inaugural concert on Saturday 7th Dec at 7:30 pm and dedication service on Sunday 8th.
First Coats of Finish - Looking Very Pretty
The manual keyboards are due to leave Germany tomorrow. They should arrive by the end of next week. By then the console will have had several more coats of lacquer and be ready to have the keyboards mounted.
Once these are in place, the stop panels can be made and fitted out. The stops for each division will be mounted on feature panels of American Rock Maple, a beautiful light honey timber, giving a wonderful contrast against the Blackwood.
The natural pedals will also be made from the American Rock Maple, as will the sharp substrate, with Blackwood sharp caps. Should be beautiful and match the flow of the Rock Maple and Blackwood from the upper parts of the console.
All the timber for the tambour cover have been machined and are ready for assembly, and once the keyboards arrive, all electronic and mechanical components are in stock.
If all goes to plan, electronic assembly should begin at the end of the month...
